Yesterday on Wednesday August 9, we were called at 7pm to reports of a wounding in Horden.
We were on scene by 7.15pm. A male patient was given advanced care on scene and during the subsequent flight to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough by the charity’s doctor-led trauma team.
The flight took seven minutes and the patient was critical on arrival. This was a challenging incident which required emergency workers from different organisations to work closely as a team.
It’s important to recognise the contribution made by on scene police officers, North East Ambulance Service staff and the passing nurses.
Our thoughts are with the injured man and his family.
