Rugby player, 13, airlifted from Penrith


The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to a 13-year-old boy who was injured during a tackle in a rugby game at Frenchfield, Penrith. The patient was assessed and treated by the GNAAS doctor-led aircrew for a possible neck injury before being flown to Carlisle’s Cumberland Infirmary within 10 minutes.

The patient was assessed and treated by the GNAAS doctor-led aircrew for a possible neck injury before being flown to Carlisle’s Cumberland Infirmary within 10 minutes. He arrived in a stable condition.

The incident happened at around 2pm on Saturday.
