The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to a two car road traffic collision on the A689 in Crosby near Carlisle on Sunday. Two GNAAS aircraft attended the incident, one from Langwathby and another from Durham Tees Valley Airport. The doctor-led trauma team gave advanced treatment to a woman at the scene but despite everyone’s best efforts, she was sadly pronounced dead. One man with serious multiple injuries and two children with minor injuries were also assessed, treated and transported to hospital.
