The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the Borrowdale Valley at 3pm on Friday 17, where a walker had fallen around 50ft down a rocky slope. The woman, in her 50s, had suffered a serious head injury and was put into an induced coma by the doctor-led aircrew before being flown to hospital in Preston where she arrived in a stable condition.
