The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to Kirkby Thore where a critically ill patient was suffering from a medical condition. The GNAAS crew was requested to assist North West Ambulance Service at 3.15pm on October 1. The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was anaesthetised at the scene before she was flown to the Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary within 20 minutes. .
