A CYCLIST was airlifted to hospital after a fall from his bike on Saturday (August 20).
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the incident which happened to the south of Carlisle at 2.10pm.
The GNAAS doctor-led trauma team worked alongside North West Ambulance Service to treat the 31-year-old man for potentially serious abdominal injuries.
The patient was flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle in a flight which took 27 minutes, where he arrived in a stable condition.
