Heart attack victim flown to hospital from Alnwick


A MAN was airlifted to hospital after a heart attack while at home in Alnwick, Northumberland, on Saturday (July 16). The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to assist North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) and landed at the Duke’s Middle School in Alnwick. During the heart attack, the man suffered a cardiac arrest but was successfully resuscitated by the NEAS paramedics at the scene before the GNAAS crew arrived. He was then anaesthetised by the GNAAS doctor and paramedic crew and airlifted to the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle for specialist treatment.
