A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital after a fall from a horse in Spennymoor, County Durham, on Saturday (July 16). The 50-year-old woman had been thrown from a horse before the animal stood on her. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at around midday and the GNAAS doctor and paramedic crew assessed and treated the patient for a chest and possible head injury.
