A 10-year-old girl has been airlifted to hospital after a road traffic collision involving three vehicles in Consett, County Durham.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to Consett in County Durham at 1.40pm yesterday to treat the girl who had suffered pelvic injuries.
The GNAAS doctor-led aircrew assessed and treated the girl before administering two units of blood by the roadside.
The girl was airlifted to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary in a flight that took just seven minutes, this would have taken around 37 minutes by road. She arrived in a critical condition.
