A WALKER was airlifted from a Lake District hill after injuring herself in a fall. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to Broom Fell at around 2:10pm yesterday. The woman, from Wigton, slipped while walking and sustained a shoulder injury.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to Broom Fell at around 2:10pm yesterday.
The woman, from Wigton, slipped while walking and sustained a shoulder injury. She was given pain relief and treated by the GNAAS doctor-led team who worked alongside Cockermouth Mountain Rescue.
The patient was then flown to Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, in 12 minutes where she arrived in a stable condition.
