A MAN has been airlifted to hospital after a car hit a wall and rolled into a field on the A686 near Penrith. The North West Ambulance Service requested the assistance of GNAAS on October 23. The doctor-led trauma team assessed and treated a 36-year-old man, from Melmerby, for rib and lung injuries. The patient was airlifted to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

The patient was airlifted to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. The flight took 18 minutes and he arrived in a stable condition.
