A motorcyclist was flown to hospital with serious injuries after a collision with a car near Chester-le-Street yesterday. The 29-year-old man, from South Durham, suffered severe back injuries in the smash. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at 3:45pm. He was treated by a GNAAS doctor and paramedic and North East Ambulance Service before being flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
