A mountain biker was airlifted from Hamsterley Forest in County Durham after he fell off his bike at 10:00am (Sun 9).
The 41-year-old man from Darlington was treated at the scene by North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) who asked for the assistance of the Great North Air Ambvlance Service.
The doctor-led trauma team assessed and treated the man for pelvis and abdominal injuries before being flown to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. The flight took 13 minutes.
Later that day, the service was called to Shildon, County Durham, after two cars were involved in a head-on collision.
The doctor-led trauma team worked alongside NEAS to assess the patients that were injured.
One man suffered serious head and neck injuries and was anaesthetised at the scene before being flown to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. The flight took 10 minutes.
